Jensen Supreme Art Award Information

To enter this award, you must be a member of the Tauranga Society of Artists.

This year we are moving with the times and using an online entry form for registering for the Jensen Supreme Art Award 2025.

If you would like to enter you must complete the entry form by 11 August 2025.

Before you begin completing the form you need to:

·        Take a photo of your artwork. Remember to cover your signature before you take the photo.

·        Measure your artwork.

·        Write an Artist Statement about what inspired you to create this artwork. (Maximum 350 characters - this is approximately 60 - 80 words and includes spaces.)

Once registration has closed all the entries will be collated and the artist names will be removed. Then they will be shared with our 3 preselection judges. The identity of the 3 judges will remain confidential. They are all professional artists, some have been competition judges and appraisers previously for TSA. Only one of them is a current member of TSA and they will not be entering an artwork for the Supreme Award.

The 3 preselection judges will work independently of one another. They will allocate points to each artwork. The points from the 3 judges will be aggregated together and the 30 artworks with the highest scores will become our Supreme Finalists. All the artists who entered will then be informed if they have been selected or not by 31 August 2025.

At Expo we will not be having a Supreme section as we have done in previous years. Supreme Finalist's artworks will be hung on the artist’s own screen/half screen with signage that identifies the artwork as a Supreme Finalist. When the artists who have entered the Supreme Award complete their Expo registration pack they must include their Supreme Artwork as Artwork A. Registration packs will be emailed to you on 1 August 2025.

On Wednesday 24 September 2025 after all the art has been hung on the screens our main judge, Liz Cooper, will judge the 30 finalists in the Jensen Supreme Art Award 2025.

Runner Up $500

5 Merits $200 each

As usual, at the Gala Opening the winner will be announced.

There is no additional cost to enter the Jensen Supreme Award other than registering for a half or whole screen at Expo.
